WELCOME to my visual art site. The work is distinguished by my efforts to paint in watercolor (mostly) in a loose and abstracted manner of still life and landscape subject matter- local and far-flung locations along with work without a subject. I consider myself to be a tonalist painter; I frequently paint what I’m feeling and that evokes a mood by way of color, shape, texture and space.
I prefer to abstract images - gives the obvious reality an added dimension, more possibilities for the viewer to imagine and appreciate.
My 30+ year working life as clinician for the hearing impaired and counselor for teens was peppered with my interest, time and pursuit of art. These efforts have served me well to fulfill a need; to interpret and transform the chatter in my head into joyful if not satisfying visual representations for me -creating a bit of a balance and understanding of this mixed bag of a world- discerning in my inevitable subjective way the wheat from the chaff.
My portfolio here offers a glimpse , a sampling of my work.
Thank you for visiting.
